Roberto Rivera-Reyes was born in the Chilean capital Santiago and he has been writing since 1967. He studied Philosophy atthe University of Chile. His literary background was based on his participation in the two main literary workshops in Santiago,at the Andrés Bello Cultural Centre and at the Ministry of Education Cultural House during the Salvador Allende Goverment. In september 1975, he was given refugee in Britain. Here he obtained a B.A (Hon.) in Latin American Studies at Portmonth Polytechnic and a P.G.C.E at Cardiff University. He teaches languages in London. In 1984, he was one of the founders of the Latin American Writers Group in London. He was the editor of the Anthology of Latin Amrerican Poets in London, (London, 1988). A selection of his poems have been published in several literary publications such as: Westwords,(Autumn, 1987) Artrage (London, 1986), Ampersand(Canbridge,1985), Publishing for people and Fighting Censonship (London,1985), and Epigramas de Harina Neruda (London,1983) |
